ONE BLOCK
I founded ONE BLOCK in the summer of 2020 in response to the drastic sanitation department budget cuts. In just a short time, we became an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit and now fill 1,000 green bags of trash on the Upper West Side each week! We hired two full-time workers through ACE (Association of Community Employment Programs for the Homeless), who supply the manpower to help keep our streets cleaner. In doing so, ONE BLOCK offers support not only to our city but also to its most vulnerable population. Our two workers, Jackie and Ramon, were formerly living in shelters but now have apartments that we helped them settle into.
WISE AND WONDERFUL WOMEN
Bringing people together feeds my soul. I founded WWW to educate and empower women of all ages, but with a focus on those of us 45 and over. I host free monthly dinners for 70 women with speakers talking on a variety of different and important topics. We also have an active Facebook page.
GOD’S LOVE WE DELIVER
This fabulous charity home delivers medically tailored, healthy meals to New Yorkers too sick to cook and/or shop for themselves. I have been on the host committee for their annual benefit concert, “LOVE ROCKS NYC,” since it started eight years ago. Additionally, I help coordinate the “RIDE FOR LOVE,” the annual Douglas Elliman-sponsored bike-a-thon.
EEO BAHAMAS
After my daughter Riley was diagnosed with dyslexia in the first grade, her life was changed by getting the specialized help she needed to get her confidence back and thrive. EEO is a grassroots organization focused on helping children on the Bahamian island of Eleuthera get the help they desperately need. Fourteen years ago, my daughters and I started a summer literacy camp in partnership with them. We now serve over 70 special elementary school children each year.
IMPACT 100 NYC
I am a proud member of the New York City chapter of Impact 100. Harnessing the power of collective giving and collaborative action, this national organization unites women across the country to fund transformative grants to small and mid-sized New York City-based nonprofits.
CANDLELIGHTERS NYC
Imagine arriving in Manhattan from another state or country with a child with a life-threatening illness and trying to navigate all of the hurdles that lie before you. Candlelighters NYC supports these families in countless ways: finding temporary housing, buying seasonal clothing, and/or arranging transportation or meals. To keep spirits up, they host holiday parties, arrange for fun outings, or even offer a clean place for the children to play. I’ve had the honor of helping these families over the last fourteen years.
